The recurring question if you have any product, or service, in the market, right? And if you don't, you have a problem, because your customers, or users, will always do it.
The question I mean is: How much is it [whatever you do/bandages]? In our case, that concrete question is how much is it worth participating in an experience of remote villages? (To which I add, but I leave that for another occasion, how do we transmit everything that is lived in an experience of remote villages?)
I want to say in advance, that what you are going to read next is not a justifying post blog, or nothing is further from reality, what you are going to read is an exhibition of everything that makes possible (before, during and after) that) that) that We carry out an experience and what are the impacts we generate with them.
The importance of the rural environment
It is something that we always transmit in our communications and the cornerstone of our experiences: the rural environment and that everything happens within it.
Photography of the landscape of 'Los Quemados' in the municipality of Fuencaliente, La Palma.
For us, the environment is everything, it is what helps us generate authentic connection experiences and what gives you the opportunity to take that necessary 'pause' to connect with other people and with yourself.
The peoples, or regions, in which we develop our experiences with remote peoples are the basis on which we sit everything else and therefore are part of our initial phase of analysis , a fundamental phase to build everything we do and the aura that Surround each of the experiences that we start up.
If the environment is the key, accommodation is the 'nerve center', it is where you are going to live, to co-create, share, chat and connect with other people who have similar concerns to yours.
These accommodations, such as: Alberto Dorner, the era of the Court or the Rural House Los Melindros , are not chosen at random, are the result of checking (physically and personally) that are the ideal sites to develop remote villages ICOD, old. and Fuencaliente .
That connection goes far beyond having magnificent spaces, comfortable rooms, spaces with good Internet connection or a fully equipped kitchen, the connection is also with the people responsible for these businesses, with the care and care they put to Every detail, or how they help us connect with the local community of each of the municipalities.
You can read more about some of our accommodations in the post blog: undertake from rurality: examples of remote peoples (part 1)
Activities that generate links
As important as the environment, it is what happens in it. Building and co-create activities that help you connect with the rural environment and the people who live in it is one of our favorite parts. Explore the territory, seeing their corners, knowing local actors and actresses that will be part of remote peoples (and will be an active part of our global community) is a very enriching process.
When we are creating all this we do visualizing how you are going to live those experiences and we do it in the best possible way, living it directly. We like to imagine the faces of amazement, interest or curiosity that you will have when you know the stories behind each project, however follow (or start) with them rurally and the smiles of complicity while doing the activities.

In addition, the impact of the activities is divided into two plots, since we tried to enhance that our impact came as far as possible in everything we do:
-
Main activities: They are the ones that we co-create with the local actors/actresses and with whom we generate the direct link with the territory we act on.
-
Secondary activities: These are the activities you can carry out with other actors/actresses of the municipality, who have very attractive, sustainable and connection with the territory.
Team Building and sessions :
-
Team Building: Team Building sessions are experiences such as micro-workshops through which we collaborate or do activities together. All are accompanied by dynamics to generate empathy and to know the rest of your experience partners better.
-
Skillshare: Skillshare's sessions are experiences in which a classmate (a teleworkors who is part of the experience) shares his 'expertise' with the rest of the classmates. They can be productivity, mindfulness, marketing or others sessions.

Propose
Something that is part of the experiences of Pueblos Remotos from the outset is to propose changes that last over time, how do we propose those changes? Because generally through resolution, or identification, challenges.
As we told you in the first statement, for us the territory is everything, and how we impact within it, too.
For this reason we work to identify challenges in the territory to work in common during experiences. Facilitating these challenges helps generate work spaces together, collaborate hand in hand with local actors and leave your 'grain of sand' in the rural environment.
Around the challenges 'magical' things always happen, incredible connections and an exchange of knowledge that goes beyond the pure 'learning'

As Elsa already defined in his post blog: 'The challenges: key piece of connected rurality' , the challenges are a way of contributing to the territory and receiving a contribution of it.
The impact we generate (you and us)
Yes, this 'movie' is not about what Pueblos Remotos does, because when you participate in one of our experiences, you are part of Pueblos Remotos and connected rurality. You become part of our community and with it, the impact we generate on each and every one of our actions.
As you know, and if not, I tell you, we are behind a 'new' concept of economy: the social economy. Which means that with our business model we seek to generate impacts that go beyond the mere commercial exchange.
As you can read in our manifesto , or on our connected rurality , we want to generate an impact that I last in the territory we act on.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Within this post blog by Elsa: 'How do we contribute to the SDGs with our experiences?' , you can read in detail what are the SDGs we drive and how, and why, we are aligned with them.
I also leave you here the first definition of our impacts, based on the SDGs:
We believe that contributing directly to the SDGs must be our day to day and that to achieve it you just have to work on it. From pueblos remotos we are very aligned with the following:
-
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
-
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
-
ODS 12: Responsible production and consumption
-
SDG 17: Alliances to achieve objectives
Carbon footprint
Probably one of the most commented terms and linked to the word 'sustainability' (yes, and with the 'Greenwashing' of many companies)
In our case, we know that many of our experiences entail displacements (especially plane trips) that have a high impact in terms of carbon footprint. For this reason (and some more) our experiences last 21 days, to try to reduce our impact as much as possible, at the time of generating more 'slow' actions that help you integrate into the environment and in their community.
Of course, there are many actions that we can improve and we are working on it so that our impact in terms of carbon footprint is reduced to the minimum expression.
Hugs and connections between people, one of the best qualitative impacts we generate 🙂
Direct impact
This is perhaps, the second most important point of everything we do and much of our 'leitmotiv': generate impact with what we do what kind of impact? Well, of all kinds:
Quantifiable impact
Within the quantifiable impact we have the direct economic impact that we generate on the territory and all the data we extract with our experiences:
-
Within our mission, vision and values is to use the economy and resources that we generate to improve people's lives, for this reason, between 75% -80% of our budgets are reversed in the regions we act on, generating Local economy and directly impacting the businesses of rural entrepreneurs.
-
We prepare evaluation reports in which we measure all the impacts we generate: challenges in which we have worked, new proposals for solutions for the municipality/region, direct economic impacts or new products/services to diversify the business lines of rural entrepreneurs, as well as the feedback of all the people who participate in our experiences.
Qualitative impact
This, of course, is the most difficult to measure. We try to collect part of that impact through the testimonies of some of our participants. Post blog like Lucía, Javi or interviews like the one we had with Álvaro, help us to understand 'what they feel' the people who participate. But if one hundred percent sincere, I could write for 100 years and not know how That they live it is something very personal and unique. Perhaps this post post: 'smiling is the key' can be a small part of what I identify, but I assure you that it is far from what you can live as part of it.
You can read more about the impacts we generate on the post blog: 'generating positive impact on the rural environment'

Duration vs preparation
Another important detail, and that already introduced you with the analysis of the territory, is that to launch our experiences we follow a 4 -phase process: analysis, collection, execution and impact generated .
Therefore, the price you see reflected in our experiences is not marked for the 21 days that you are going to live with us, is the result of a process of months of work.
If we want to generate a real, and lasting impact, in everything we do, we have to give it all the care and dedication that it deserves.
For this reason, preparing an experience of Pueblos Remotos is four to five months of work.
