What you read, today Pueblos Remotos it's a year of life, can you believe it? We have a hard time assimilating that we are anniversary, because too many things have passed since we launched ourselves to the pool on March 10, 2021.
Luckily, the pool was full and the reception we had with our pilot project in Icod de los Vinos, Tenerife, was incredible and encouraged us to move forward with the rurality always connected by flag.
The second edition in Antigua, Fuerteventura, which took place at the end of last year, was a before and after, because until then pueblos remotos remained a parallel project to which we dedicated just over 20% of our time.
It was recently, in early 2022, when both Carlos and me, we made the great decision to give Pueblos Remotos the value it deserves and since then, we have focused on him as the main project and we are dedicating the hundred percent of our energy.
Canariety is to feel that La Palma we are all
In this context, and with all the love we feel for our Islites, we think we are better to celebrate this first anniversary than announcing our next edition, the third: remote peoples Fuencaliente . An experience that promises to be very special because it will occur in La Palma , island that had our hearts in suspense for 3 months.
Even before the eruption of the Vieja Summit volcano, we already had in mind to organize an experience on the Bonita Island, but after the damage caused and the cessation of volcanic activity, we do not doubt a moment to get to work to work to contribute our grain of sand and get this new edition forward.

»In the midst of the eruption of the volcano I was helping as a volunteer by removing ashes from the roofs and I saw it clear, we had to organize the next edition of pueblos remotos in La Palma, it is the minimum that we can do for this wonderful island and that has given us so much to the Canaries' - Elsa Rodríguez, co -founder of Pueblos Remotos .
The municipality chosen for this occasion is that of Fuencaliente, in the south of the island, and whose history takes place, precisely, around volcanoes, since four eruptions have occurred on its ground in the last 343 years.
We want to remain faithful to our essence and to the model implemented so far, therefore, this third edition will take The requirement remains that they can communicate in Spanish.
Fuencaliente: The perfect scenario to telework between volcanoes
Participants can work remote from a unique environment, enjoy sustainable activities that join them with people, to connect with whatever surround them, but above all, it will give them the possibility of participating in an initiative that will change their way of seeing the environment rural, living and collaborating directly with authentic innovative projects that go hand in hand with the culture and traditions of the place.
Carlos Teleworking from the Rural House Los Melindros in Fuencaliente, La Palma
"La Palma is a perfect enclave to telework, connect with yourself and with the mountain. The landscapes are incredible, especially in the area called as 'The route of the volcanoes', in the municipality of Fuencaliente" - Carlos Jonay Suárez, confused of pueblos remotos.
On this occasion, in addition to giving voice and visibility to local entrepreneurs with whom we will work side by side, we will perform a volunteer action with those affected by the volcano and 2% of the money collected will be donated through the tickets of the participants to a local association.
The vision of Pueblos Remotos has not changed: »We want to continue positioning rural environments such as connected, innovative places, where local actors and their projects have a main role.»
