On June 1, 2018 I terrric in the city of Barcelona to attend DNX Barcelona (an event within the digital conferences Nomad Conferences , one hundred percent in Spanish) to which I had invited me as founder of DNEXP .
As usually happens in this type of event, you know many people who have all kinds of businesses and services, which, in addition, was a fundamental part of what the talks and workshops that were developed.
One of those people, which I met some reeds the day before the event, told me a project that was most curious to me: mount a coworking, 100% online and 100% in Spanish, for freelancers who work from home. Now, in 2023, perhaps the names that are coming to your head are those of Bosco Soler and that of his project: without office . If that is what you thought, then bingo!
Bosco Soler talking about his experience as a digital web designer in DNX Barcelona 2018
When I met Bosco and spoke to me about the project, it seemed somewhat great (great, and hard of lame ***) and I say it from knowledge, because I had already been a user of many coworking spaces, and had even passed through the adventure of Co-monter one (100% physical, yes)
As you can suppose, since he launched the beta of the project, I got head of. But, today I do not want to talk about the almost 5 years that I have been part of without an office, I will keep that for a post blog that I hope to take sooner than later in my blog.
Today we are going to jump into the present, specifically on March 20, in which the second annual event of no office 2023 (or #easinofina2023 ) took place from which we were sponsors (in a very humble way, everything is said) With remote peoples .
The power of the community
If something is breathed in this event, which I have been lucky enough to participate in the two editions in which they have been carried out, it is community. It doesn't matter who you talk to, who you know, or in which part of the conversation between. Everyone coincides with the care and love that is put to the community.
And, eye, which is something that is extremely complicated, since the project has gone from a community of just under 50 people in its beginnings (back in the summer of 2018) to more than 700 in 2023.
The great responsible for all this working on luxury is María Sajim , Community Builder in without office . And I do not tell you, anyone who asked within the community will tell you.
In addition, all this always means a great learning for us in pueblos remotos, since every thing we learn and all the good practices we see, help us improve with our own, and incipient, community.
Returning to the event, from the welcome dinner, until the day of the event itself, I could see the good vibes that moves from the digital world, to the physicist, or as it likes to say there: that of distorting.
Even Talent Garden , the place where the Annual Office 2023 was held, 150 people with all kinds of profiles came, but in general: professionals who sell products and/or services online, and many of them, remote workers .
Another of the things that caught my attention is that many people in the community are undertaking (or have left) from the rural environment, which tells us a lot about where they are moving (or being) many professionals in the digital sector In the 'post-pandemic years.'

An event with content to discuss
Another of the things that does not leave you indifferent is the dynamics of the event. Everything happens in a very natural and spontaneous way, but at the same time, the activities are prepared with a very luxury detail.
Throughout the day I was able to enjoy (well, we could, since I was a large part of the event with the Gon crack) of 3 panels, a contest, an escape room, mastermind session and a lot of opportunities to make networking (or As we like to say, to connect with people)

The panels
Within the Easinophine 2023 I had the opportunity to listen carefully to the debates that were generated within the panels:
-
Content creation: with Elena Madrigal , Itziar Oltra and Alex Llull .
-
Services / Freelancers: With Bohdan Shila , Ana Gadea and Daniel Canosa .
-
Conciliation / Lifestyle: With Noemí Car , Sergio Espinar and Tania Eufracio .
In each of the panels there was talk in detail of the problems, benefits, situations, feelings and experiences of the protagonists.

Within the contents creation panel (and with broad participation of the public), the figure of Chatgpt (and the IA's in general) arose and if it was going to leave the content creators without work. There was talk of tone, identity and above all what each person brings to their brand and project as a symbol of identity (very difficult to copy and/or replicate by an AI, at least for the moment)
In the part of services and freelancing there was also talk of the reality of the world of services, their difficulty in launching them, how to produce them can be an option (but, of course, with their corresponding cost) or how a life Freelance is an option one hundred percent viable in a world in which it seems that everything should become a product.
In the last panel, one of the most interesting for me, there was talk of one of that 'taboo' songs (which also jumped on stage with the pandemic) such as conciliation. How do you have to learn to prioritize and 'adhere' with it, and be aware of how far you can get (understanding to reconcile for taking care of your children, or having a lot of free time for you)
Activities
In addition to the panels, the event had three fun activities:
-
A small contest to see how much the community knew about the projects of other sigops (there was noticed that in 2022 I was not very active for the discord of the community)
-
Mastermind session in which we could share our projects, blockages and receive feedback from other community professionals.
-
An escape room (before which I take off my hat) in which we had to 'get out of the office.' A very funny and enjoyable little while, which helped us to work as a team and meet more people in the community.
The truth is that there were nine hours of pure entertainment, that they flew. With enough space to enjoy coffee, talk quietly and of course, enjoy a piece of pizza.
If you want to see how everything in a more audiovisual way was lived, I leave you here under the summary video of the event.
