Rural referents with apadrinaunolivo.org

With José we talked about the adventure that Apadrinaunolivo.org meant, as they see from the same to the 'rural referents', what it is like to undertake from a rural environment and we met many of the initiatives that are behind this beautiful project.

On March 22 we started with a new section within our webinar: rural referents , a space in which to give voice and share knowledge with people who are betting on undertaking from the rural one.

For our first conversation we have a luxury rapporteur: José Alberto Martín, co -founder of Apadrinaunolivo.org .

We talked about the adventure that this project meant, how they see from it to the 'rural referents', how it is to undertake from a rural environment and we met many of the initiatives behind this beautiful project.

We leave you here the full video to the conversation we had with José and that we have housed on our YouTube channel.

Collecting knowledge of Apadrinaunolivo.org

From the intervention with José we took a lot of ideas and data. Some of the most relevant is that in Spain 8124 villages, of which 60% have less 1,000 inhabitants.

In the specific case of Oliete (the main towns in which they are working from the project) have generated the following impacts:

  • 7,000 godparents/godmothers have joined and are contributing to the project

  • They have rescued more than 16,000 olive trees

  • They have generated 22 direct jobs

In addition, we had very interesting answers to questions such as: What are the biggest challenges they identify right now to undertake from a rural environment? or do people who are going to visit these olive trees generate some type of link with that territory?
