Hello hello!

I suppose that, like me, you're all tired of hearing or saying "Happy New Year!", so I'll spare you the trouble (although you've already read it, hehe).

This is Ane speaking, one of the newest members of the Pueblos Remotos team 🙂

Last September, I began this new adventure as a LEINN (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation) student intern. I am currently working on my final degree project, which focuses on creating a new business line within the company to promote ethical tourism and revitalize rural areas through young talent.

These two areas, rural revitalization and youth, are two topics I've been working on for quite some time, in previous projects I've developed and in the programs I've attended and facilitated. Therefore, I'm very motivated to take on this challenge and I'm sure this combination has a lot to offer!

I haven't been part of the team for very long, but I've actually settled in much better and faster than I expected. It's often not easy to connect with people, and it's even harder to connect with colleagues, because, among other factors, those of us who strive to do things with dedication try to find "the best," and it's difficult to meet expectations.

However, in this case I can say that I have connected a lot with the people who are part of this "madness" and this is due to different reasons:

My 7 reasons for working with pueblos remotos

Reason 1: The mission, vision, and values of Pueblos Remotos are fully aligned with my own. Therefore, I believe in, trust in, and want to share the concept of “connected rurality” with everyone.

Reason 2: From the very first minute, I've been trusted, even though I'm the "new" and "young" one. My contributions are highly valued, the team encourages me to take on more responsibilities, and I have the opportunity to "create" within the company.

The mission, vision, and values of Pueblos Remotos are fully aligned with mine.

Reason 3: Remote work and working towards objectives is one of the keys to how Pueblos Remotos works, offering a lot of flexibility and promoting self-leadership for each team member.

Reason 4: We have generated a very "good vibe" in the team dynamic, humor is essential and we enjoy free time outside of working hours to get to know each other better.

Reason 5: People's well-being is highly valued; we listen to each other and give feedback when necessary.

Reason 6: Making a positive impact on society, networking, innovation, and having an international perspective are highly valued in remote villages. Therefore, I am constantly learning (practicing languages, meeting many interesting people, discovering new cultures, and experiencing firsthand the different challenges of society).

Reason 7: Being a multidisciplinary team, with people of diverse ages and from different cultures, has helped me to grow both personally and professionally.

So after mentioning this list (of green flags as some would say), for now it seems that everything is going "smoothly" and the truth is that it is!

But wait. As with any venture, things aren't always so "ideal" and "perfect." Many times, uncertainty and a lack of knowledge about many things have also generated a lot of doubts along the way. And we still have so much to do! So now it's time to enjoy the moment and really get going, because 2024 is shaping up to be an intense but incredible year!
